Tom & Alex

The Wool Tower, Sept 2019

“When it comes to having talented suppliers, there are none more talented than Iain Irwin. He is a total visionary behind the camera. Tom and I had worked with Iain before, and we were comfortable with his style of photography. One of my favourite things about the day was having Iain be present during so many of our quiet moments. He got to be there when I put my dress on for the first time, he reassured me that everything was okay even though we were behind schedule, and he defused some early stresses with his cheery attitude.

He is crazy professional while also being warm and friendly. He listens to what kind of photos you would like to see, while also capturing moments you would never think to capture. He also has the incredible ability to make you feel at ease while spending an hour having photos taken – during the most bizarre and beautiful day of your life.

We really wanted to focus on our loved ones rather than having a massive photoshoot. We wanted to see all the candid moments, people talking and laughing and catching up. The things we would never get to see from our internal perspective on the day. I wept when Iain sent us the photos. To see those captured moments of my favourite people alongside photos of me and Tom is a gift I will never be able to repay.”

“Balancing the planning of all the aspects of the relaxed and joy-filled wedding we longed for was, at times, like spinning plates. Choosing Iain as our photographer was one of the most straightforward decisions we made and we couldn’t be happier with the results of that decision. Beforehand, he was willing to travel, be inconvenienced, and happy to work with how we put the day together. The day itself couldn’t have gone better with so many smiling faces captured of the people we love. A few weeks later we had the best time looking through our photos and genuinely couldn’t believe the beauty in the images we will hold onto for many years. Having Iain as a photographer helped us to keep what were the important things to us a priority rather than getting swept away in the potential stress of all that is involved. We cannot recommend Iain enough!”

“The moment Iain stepped into my family house on the morning of the wedding. There was a sense of joy and genuine excitement which he brought with him for the day ahead. He was so organised, knew where we needed to be, kept a close eye on the time, and kept the show on the road. He was like our wedding planner and photographer rolled into one. We wanted someone to be able to capture the day without having a camera stuck in our faces, which was why we loved Iain’s style. He was discrete at capturing the moments that seemed little at the time but looking back, they were actually some of the big moments. Iain was so professional but first and foremost he was a friend. Helping in the little moments, he removed stress by cracking jokes at just the right time. We cannot recommend Iain enough! We are so thankful for the moments which he captured, but also for his kindness expressed throughout the entire process, which definitely doesn’t fall under his job description.”

“We hired Iain around the same time we got engaged – November 2018. I loved the fact that we could have our engagement photos taken in my parents’ garden – a homely environment that made us both feel comfortable. Richard, my now husband, wouldn’t necessarily be the photo-loving type and I was worried that the photos would display that. I had nothing to worry about! Iain made us both feel at ease, the pictures speak louder than any words, and we are laughing in most of the photos! We knew after the engagement photoshoot that we had to have Iain as part of our wedding and we were overjoyed that he was free on the date of our wedding. Iain kept in touch with us throughout the wedding process and even sent us a wedding questionnaire to help ease our pre-marital jitters!
It’s hard to explain how quickly the time passes in the lead up to a wedding. The 14th of December quickly crept up on us and before I knew it I was in the throws of getting ready to walk down the aisle. Iain arrived at my parent’s home early in the morning. I hardly knew he was there, he fitted right in perfectly with the family! The photos are so natural and effortless. I particularly loved the photos taken of our little flower girl getting herself ready for the special day that lay ahead. Such special memories that I can remind her of in years to come.  From the prep before the wedding to the pictures of the sparkler walk in the evening, every photo is natural, comfortable, and timeless. Our favourite photos are the ones that we had no idea were being taken.
If you are unsure about booking a photographer, please look no further. You will not regret having Iain as part of your big day… Iain, again, thank you so much for all your help, you were truly a pleasure to have at our wedding.”
