I’m Iain and since 2016, I’ve been fortunate to document over 300 weddings all over the world.
Hi, I’m Iain, a wedding photographer based in Northern Ireland.
My name is Iain and I have been photographing weddings for over 8 years now. I’m 29 years old and was born and raised in the countryside of Northern Ireland, just outside Portadown, Co. Armagh.
My beautiful wife, Erin, and I met back in school when we were just 15 & 16 years old. Fast forward through the years, we’ve celebrated 6 years of marriage, and over two years ago, we welcomed our little bundle of joy, Isaiah, into the world. Let’s not forget Hudson, our 6-year-old dog who’s always by our side. Family is everything to me. They are my world, and they are the reason I do what I do.
Despite the whirlwind of becoming a first-time dad and navigating my busiest year yet, I couldn’t be more thankful. The couples I’ve met and the moments I’ve captured along the way have been nothing short of incredible.

Over eight years ago, I decided to use my student loan to buy a second-hand camera off eBay. I could never have envisioned the journey ahead, filled with many lessons learnt along the way. Today, with over 300 weddings and counting captured, I’m deeply thankful for every moment, every click of the camera, and every story.

Coffee & Food
I’m a bit of a coffee snob—espresso & pour-over are my go-to choices. You may not know this but last year, I switched to a fully plant-based diet. It started as a challenge for January and initially as a way to improve my health, but it quickly became a lifestyle I love. This journey has introduced me to incredible flavors and dishes from different cultures—recipes I never would have tried otherwise. I’m passionate about finding the best ways to care for my body while also making choices that are better for the planet. Erin and I love traveling on city breaks, seeking out small restaurants, and discovering hidden gems that serve incredible food.
Health & Fitness
I’ve always been a sporty person, and football has always been a favourite—both to play and to watch. As a lifelong Manchester United fan, I try to get over to Old Trafford with my dad and brothers at least once a season.
When I was younger, I ruptured my ACL, and that injury set me on a journey to better understand my body—how to recover, get stronger, and live healthier. In 2017, I stumbled into a CrossFit gym and instantly loved it. My favorite part? Olympic lifting! More recently, I’ve taken up running and set myself the challenge of completing a marathon.
Along the way, I’ve realised you can’t out train a bad diet. Cooking has become a big part of my health journey and was one of the reasons I decided to go plant-based. I’m even trying to grow my own herbs, and hope to start a little vegetable patch some day. Although I’ve lost count of how many sourdough starters I’ve accidentally killed so the chances of that happening are probably very slim.
God
You might be surprised to learn that while at Queen’s University, Belfast, I didn’t study photography—I actually earned a Bachelor of Divinity, focusing on theology and the original languages of Greek and Hebrew. It was during those years, while also working part-time in a church, that I bought my first second-hand camera on eBay. I used my student loan to kickstart my photography business—initially as a way to save for an engagement ring!
My faith is the very foundation of who I am, and although I fail everyday, I strive to love God & love others to the best of my ability. I try my best to reflect this in my work and through the conversations I have.
I am someone who loves asking questions, and getting to the bottom of things, I think that’s why I also love running my own business too. I am always trying to improve things and make things better, and I am always trying to learn more.
Technology & Culture
One of the things I love about this job is getting to work with the latest tech. From new Apple products to the newest cameras and lenses, I’m always trying something fresh. Right now, I shoot with two Canon R6s, paired with incredible RF lenses—the 28-70mm f2.0 and the 70-200mm f2.8.
I’ve always been a creative person. At school, I studied music and art (fun fact: I played the viola!). I was also the one planning events, designing posters, and teaching myself how to edit videos and use Photoshop. Looking back, it makes complete sense that I ended up in a job like this.
Beyond photography, I love movies and great TV shows. The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass by Mike Flanagan are some of my all-time favourites, I love movies that make you really think, but will watch just about anything! Before kids, we practically lived at the cinema with our Omnipass!
Why I love photographing Weddings
I’m often asked why I photograph weddings, and the answer is simple. There’s no better experience. Where else are you surrounded by love, beauty, happiness, and joy every time you go to work? I get to play a small part in the best day of your life.
Your wedding day is one of the greatest days of your life! That’s why you deserve photos you can look back on in 50 years and smile with a heart full of joy. Photos packed with real and honest emotion. The truth is wedding photography is a meaningful investment—however, it is one you shouldn’t cut corners on. After all, this is your once-in-a-lifetime day, and you deserve nothing less than the very best to preserve those precious memories.
